It was stored in my dads basement on the floor and the city storm drain backed up and put 3in of water into the machine. The problem is usually too much pressure on the nut (maybe a wing nut) that holds the wire spool in place. But check the whole feed path - only takes a minute or two. I had two mm130 one was a 130 xp. I would say a fair comparison would be to a Lincoln sp 125 plus. The cost was about even ($500.00 new) The MM 130 was really not much of a welder but the xp version could more then hold it's own with the 125 Lincoln. A bad switch will also prevent power from getting to the rectifier. A bad rectifier will take out both weld and wire feed in either an SP-125T or an SP-125-PLUS. I am taking a lunch break and going out to weld more of it. A teflon liner is a must. Use 5356 wire 4043 is to soft trust me I have a roll in mine right now. Another thing to try first is when you are welding is keep the cable to the gun straight as possible. Higher guage wire doesn't travel around curves well as lighter gauge. A really cheap fix is to replace the contact tip.Loosen set screw in power pin and pull out liner. Have gun straight. Blow out gun and install new liner. before cutting liner install brass diffuser. with gun out straight cut liner flush with end of diffuser. use a side cutter and not a cutting wheel. split coils, bend to 45 degrees and cut.Problem it's will be great for tack welds only.There was a guy doing production aluminum back in the day, The SP-125 is a nice auto-body rig, and exhaust type work.
